Or Not to Be

“My dreams were always there. Crystal clear. Those dreams kept me alive, I know that now.  My existence would have had no meaning without Shakespeare. I was born to bring him back to life.”

England, 1923. Amleth de Vitus de Saint-Ange, suffering from depression and amnesia, is suddenly dragged out of lethargy by the news of his mother's death.  Returning to London he gradually resumes contact with his singular obsession: William Shakespeare. Feelings of dread, vertigo, fragmented memories: returning to the world of his childhood is dangerous for Vitus but fascinating for the reader who, drawn into the whirlpool of lyricism, drifts between fiction and reality. Under the guiding hand of the old Bard of Avon, in the village of Fayrwood, which is not on any map, we are led to the crossroads of purity and damnation, madness and reason and love and death.
