Praise for FERGUS

Totally quirky, this detective thriller published by Atalante takes us into a dream-like universe where advertising is ubiquitous. Worse still, publicity is pushed to the limit, like the spam blocking our inboxes, by means of an all-encompassing concept of technology that can package them in whatever way it likes. On the strength of this inspired and intriguingly innovative idea that Argentinian graphic artist Diego Agrimbau ("La bulle de Bertold") understands only too well - his first job was in advertising - we make the acquaintance of Fergus, a publicity detective in his own right and a sincere character. As we follow him in his missions, we enter a bizarre, mercenary and unrelenting society that relies on the excessive manipulation of people.

Diego Agrimbau shows us a dream-like universe where the advertising world reigns supreme. With the experience from his first job as an ad man, he knows his subject and presents a society that is bizarre, unrelenting, mercenary and governed by manipulation. His narrative is solidly constructed, imbued with humour and humanity. But he strikes a blow with a critique on mental manipulation which gives him the chance to create some quite extraordinary scenes which will make the reader laugh out loud. We cannot but warm to a hero who, in his dreams, finding himself in his teddy-bear pyjamas, ruefully curses them. The graphics by Pietro, who gained his experience in Argentina, Italy and the United States, are truly impressive. Each image is a masterpiece, both from the point of view of the characters and the background. The coloration is impeccable, making the dream sequences easy to identify.

Brilliant work which just makes you want to track down other books by these authors!
