The Blessed One
Sombre beginnings to a new century. Is History going into decline? War has engulfed the Northern Countries. In the South at the very limits of the ravaged countryside, great sprawling cities attract everyone doing their best to stay alive.
Surrounded by the Limit Police and patrolled by the city police and private militia groups, SudUrba lives in a state of latent civil war. It seems to be suffering from the creations of faithless architects and townplanners with no utopian vision.
Felix, one of the blessed, who believed in the Magnificent Night and the Radiant Future, returns to the City. Dragged from his monastic existence, he is summoned to find an architect who has disappeared and who is one of those unconsciously responsible for the forthcoming chaos. He may not consider himself as Orpheus but he must not turn back to his past while he is crossing Hell.
Jean-Bernard Pouy explores the major themes of the thriller from the science fiction viewpoint.
