Jean-Bernard Pouy
January 2nd 1946, Paris, France. Birth of Jean-Bernard Pouy.
After studying at university (a doctorate in the history of cinematic art), he became an arts and social advisory officer in a school in the Paris region. Before devoting himself to writing detective novels, he worked variously as an art teacher, a journalist and a scriptwriter.
In 1983 his first novel Spinoza encule Hegel (Spinoza fucks Hegel), written in 1977, appeared. The following year he began at Série Noire with Nous avons brûlé une sainte (We have burnt a saint) (1984), followed by many other books. A libertarian writer and father of the notorious octopus, Jean-Bernard Pouy carries from book to book some curious obsessions: the SNCF (French Rail) - his father was stationmaster in Tarbes, politics, the Tour de France and rock ‘n' roll, armed combat, and the pleasure of writing. He lives with his wife and two children in Paris.
