The Spirit of the Melkine

The end of conditioning has not liberated humanity as planned; on the contrary, it is sliding into savagery and oblivion, with no hope of reconstruction.

Yet, former teachers of the Melkine respect the promise made fifteen years previously. They set out for Giverne to help in the final battle.

 During this time, Ismaël's child, Prodige, born on the Esmeralda and brought up on the planet Giverne by Myriam, continues to look at the stars and to dream of being a rocket pilot. People think he is mentally retarded, but isn't that an advantage in a crazy world?

To fulfil his dreams, he needs the Melkine and its teachers. The ship has disappeared, but despite the general chaos, he can still accomplish miracles.
