Fantaisie printanière

Spring Fantasy

The story begins in a garden. Three men are seated at a table. They eat, they talk. In the adjacent garden, three women wearing veils are playing Blind man's bluff.
There is an interweaving of manipulated protagonists, guided visits and conjuring tricks.
Between times the men play Hop o' my thumb, jump around in puddles of blood, dress up and play hide-and-seek.
Between times the women have their periods, take tea, hide their faces behind their veils and play hide-and-seek.
There are also prayers, majorettes appearing, icons worshipped, processions and silent retreats.
The focal point of Fantaisie Printanière (Spring Fantasy) is the phenomenon of belief, in the widest sense of the term. This work develops the notions of the unexpected, masculine and feminine interaction, invented and natural cycles, and implicitly evokes a certain eulogy for life.
