Jacques Mondoloni was born in Paris in 1941. At school he met Jean-Louis Bory, his French teacher at the time, who encouraged him to start writing. After studying at the Rue Vaugirard Cinema School, Paris, he made several short films, and subsequently became a sound technician and director of variety shows. Then at the beginning of the 80's Jacques Mondoloni's first novels were published, firstly in the domain of science fiction (Papa 1er (Papa the First), Grand prix for French Science Fiction) then in that of the thriller. He works as a literary critic in newspapers and magazines, gives courses at the School of Journalism in Avignon and runs numerous writing workshops.
