Thierry Jonquet does not write many short stories. But within these stories he is freed from constraint and makes use of that fact jubilantly. Styles that veer from the baroque to a mix of genres: vitriolic, fantastic, anticipatory, cruel yet amusing caricature and to the enjoyment of the twist that surprises the reader.

If these black tales send chills down your spine, it doesn't mean that the author is revelling in black humour, but he may however be indignant and harsh. He is also aware of the fact that stupidity, whenever it comes to power, gives rise to horror and that those who are at the bottom of the pile are the ones that suffer.
