Majolique is running away. Thirteen years old and nearly six-foot tall she is crossing the South of France. She dances at the elbow of the fearful creature that she is desperately in love with. She draws night shadows, crimes and corpses on the ground. She digs like a mole in the entrails of the earth to discover the key to all this rotten dealing.
Majolique has a way of speaking unlike anybody else , mixing up her words as if they were worms to be cut up at will. She protects herself from the terrifying world of adults, a world of corruption and decay.
Under the Scarecrow's Coat is Lucas Sagarth's first book. It is an uneasy thriller written like a modern fairytale where the industrial ogre devours humans in the depths of the wood, and where the "little" girl leaves a trail of drawings instead of white pebbles.
